Chris isn’t afraid to put the work in. I’ve watched his journey from the freshman team to becoming the main guy by his senior year. Not to sound arrogant, but I knew it would pan out this way—the mindset and the commitment were always there.
Seeing his growth has been a treat for me, because I’ve seen firsthand the work he’s put in. From long summers in the Dojo to countless reps on dog-hot days, he earned this moment. I told him last season that he had district MVP potential, and while a few off games and key losses caused that opportunity to slip away, he took that as fuel.
This season, he’s straight up balling. He dropped a career-high 28 earlier this season, and with the way he’s playing, there’s a real chance he breaks his own record once district play starts. He’s determined to make Midlothian a contender, not a pretender, and the truth is they’ll only go as far as he takes them.
He’s respected behind the arc, has the dribbling ability to create for others, and plays with confidence. Add in his strong frame and physical presence, and you have a player who’s built to handle the next level. College interest is starting to come in, and with his work ethic, there’s no doubt that in a couple of years he could be playing Division I basketball.
Keep up the good work. Proud of the progress. ⛩️
